Dr. Abrams is the head doctor at the hospital in Austin developing a potential cure for the sleep apocalypse, and a minor antagonist during season 1. After the hospital was destroyed by Meredith, Dr. Abrams briefly worked under Carl and his insane militia before allying with his former adversaries in the search for the Sandman's Oasis.
Personality[]
Dr. Abrams is introduced as the arrogant head of the hospital Lex works at, generally showing a condescending attitude to everyone and listening to classical music as he works. He is a strong believer in the greater good: he is well aware that the tests for his new sleep drug have killed hundreds of children, but expresses the opinion that he does not care so long as he finds a cure for the sleep apocalypse. His arrogance continues when he allies with Ally, Jake, Sam, Ellis, and Gabbi's group, but in this scenario they are trying to reach the same goal of being able to sleep and, eventually, finding the cause of the apocalypse.
Nonetheless, he does have a softer side to him, telling Ally on the way to the Sandman's Oasis that he owns a cat that he at first expresses hatred for but prefers to believe is alive so long as he does not go home.
